“TRIBAL SOUND SYSTEM – INCORRIGIBLE” is a sonic exploration, designed to connect with the universal rhythms and sounds of life. Through prominent percussion, Indigenous chants, Andean instruments, and electronic music, the session seeks to immerse those present in a state of collective trance through dance and music.

OBJECTIVES

  • Create a spiritual connection through repetitive musical patterns that induce altered states of consciousness.

  • Celebrate sonic diversity: fuse elements of Indigenous folklore, Andean instruments, regional Mexican music, and contemporary electronic music.

  • Pay tribute to cultural roots: integrate visual and musical aesthetics inspired by Mexico’s tribal scene, with strong influences from the pre-Hispanic sounds of the Americas.

MUSICAL AND SONIC CONCEPT

The music of TRIBAL SOUND SYSTEM – INCORRIGIBLE is 100% original and exclusive to the performance, including:

  • Songs (poems in Náhuatl) written and recited by Maribel Galicia, from Teotihuacan and a member of the Nahua people.

Key elements of the sound:

  • Tribal rhythms: percussions that evokes ancestral ceremonies.

  • Synths and electronic melodies: inspired by house, guaracha, cumbia, and tribal house.

Part of the aesthetic is inspired by the golden era of the northern Mexico tribal–guarachero scene, especially the pointed-boot dance competitions in cities like Matehuala, San Luis Potosí.

Highlighted visual elements:

  • Costumes and accessories that evoke the extravagance of regional Mexican style and a spiritual connection to the native and folkloric.

TRIBAL SOUND SYSTEM – INCORRIGIBLE is a collective ritual that promotes dance as a symbolic expression and a tool for introspection. With diverse cultural influences and a sound that crosses borders, the session aims to:

  • Reframe electronic music as a bridge between the ancestral and the contemporary.

  • Create a shared spiritual connection through music and movement.
