Every weekend, I’ll be presenting some of my favorite DJs and producers to deliver high-quality, diverse club nights, each representing different styles and blowing our minds with new sounds.
DJ TRAVELLA
We're travelling to Tanzania on October 12th. At 19 years old, DJ Travella is leading the sound of Dar Es Salaam. He joined the Nyege Nyege Tapes collective to release "Mr Mixondo," a calling card for his 200bpm fusion of taarab (a popular Tanzanian musical style) and techno, dubbed by the label as "cyber-singeli". Travella's sound is unaffiliated, independent, and freewheeling. Influenced by global genres like "Atlanta trap", rave, and "dembow", his music is intensely bold and refuses to be boxed in. We connected a few years back and now our first track together (also featuring fellow CROSSOVER guest Freebot), "WAVE IT", has come out on the @nyegenyegefest label.

Shannen SP, her DJ sets and music curation explore the full spectrum of the global underground, she platforms these sounds through her event series and forthcoming label, E.B.N.X, we also had the pleasure of curating together the Cumbiaton Total album for NTS.
