Muy contenta de anunciar el segundo lanzamiento de La Chekera Rec: CD-MEX, el nuevo mini EP de Lito 808.
Para esta ocasión, Lito creó dos canciones de tribal mexicano, pero llevadas hacia un sonido mucho más electro. Son tracks hechos para la pista, con mucha fuerza rítmica, sin perder la identidad percusiva del tribal mexicano.
Todo el EP está inspirado en la Ciudad de México: en su energía, su ruido, sus contrastes y esa forma tan única en la que conviven lo antiguo, lo moderno, lo popular y lo sofisticado. CD-MEX no busca representar una versión limpia o idealizada de la ciudad, sino capturar su pulso real: intenso, caótico, crudo y siempre en movimiento.
Lito nos comparte estas palabras sobre el lugar de donde nace la inspiración del proyecto:
“Este EP, llamado CD-MEX, es mi tributo a la Ciudad de México, la urbe que me vio crecer y que, entre su caos y su magia, me enseñó a escuchar. Es un viaje entre la dualidad: el barrio y la sofisticación, la inseguridad y la cultura vibrante. Aquí nació mi amor por la noche, por la percusión que resuena en las calles, por el fierro viejo y las voces del metro. CD-MEX es un pulso de la ciudad: tribal, crudo, eterno. Cada ritmo es una vibración de este lugar, donde lo antiguo y lo moderno se encuentran.”
Para mí es muy especial seguir construyendo el catálogo de La Chekera con música que entiende el club desde una mirada propia, local y sin complejos. CD-MEX es una declaración de amor a la ciudad, pero también a todas las cosas que la hacen incómoda, poderosa, ruidosa y completamente inolvidable.

I’m very happy to announce the second release from La Chekera Rec: CD-MEX, the new mini EP by Lito 808.
For this release, Lito created two Mexican tribal tracks, but pushed them toward a much more electro sound. They are made for the dance floor, with a lot of rhythmic force, while still preserving the percussive identity of Mexican tribal.
The entire EP is inspired by Mexico City: its energy, its noise, its contrasts, and the unique way the ancient, the modern, the popular, and the sophisticated coexist within it. CD-MEX does not try to present a clean or idealized version of the city, but rather to capture its real pulse: intense, chaotic, raw, and always in motion.
Lito shares these words about where the project’s inspiration comes from:
“This EP, titled CD-MEX, is my tribute to Mexico City, the metropolis that watched me grow up and that, through its chaos and magic, taught me how to listen. It is a journey through duality: the neighborhood and sophistication, insecurity and vibrant culture. This is where my love for the night was born, for the percussion echoing through the streets, for scrap metal and the voices of the metro. CD-MEX is the pulse of the city: tribal, raw, eternal. Every rhythm is a vibration from this place, where the ancient and the modern meet.”
It is very special to me to continue building La Chekera’s catalog with music that understands the club from its own local and unapologetic perspective. CD-MEX is a declaration of love for the city, but also for all the things that make it uncomfortable, powerful, loud, and completely unforgettable.
